Posting will be light this week as it's my kids' Spring Break. But there's so much post-launch Minimalist Parenting goodness happening that I wanted to give you an update right away.
Twitter Party, 3/26, 6pm PST/9pm EST: Christine and I are the guests of honor at the weekly #gno Twitter party hosted by Mom It Forward. We'll be talking about Minimalist Parenting, answering questions and having fun! Our co-hosts will be Audrey McClelland of Mom Generations, Heather Flett and Whitney Moss of Rookie Moms, and Meagan Francis of The Happiest Mom and The Kitchen Hour.
You've still got time to enter the book giveaway, and we'll also be giving one copy away during the chat. Twitter party and giveaway details at Mom It Forward.
Boston Book Launch Party, 3/28, 6:30PM EST: The Boston book launch party is this Thursday. Not only will Christine and her charming husband Jon be there, sponsor Isis Parenting will be donating ALL book and ticket proceeds to the Massachusetts March of Dimes. Boston party details (and tickets!) at Eventbrite.
Blissdom: Christine (and me-on-a-stick) just returned from our first official book signing at the Blissdom conference. What an amazing event. Not only was the outpouring of in-person support fabulous, Christine was also able to spread the word about an organization we both love dearly: the ONE Campaign and ONEMoms.
We are bowled over by the attention Minimalist Parenting is getting online and in the press. Here are a few of the highlights.
For the full list (including articles in British and Norwegian newspapers), see our Press page.
Boing Boing: What a way to kick off launch day. Cory Doctorow gave Minimalist Parenting a great review: Minimalist Parenting: GTD Meets Childrearing.
The Huffington Post: HuffPost Parents invited us to lead the next four weeks of the Stress-Less Parenting Club, a blog series/email newsletter aimed at simplifying parenting life. Our first post focused on time management.
Cool Mom Picks: EIC Liz Gumbinner calls Minimalist Parenting "the must read parenting book of the year." This means so much, coming from her.
Whitney Johnson: Among other (big) things, Whitney is the author of Dare, Dream, Do. She calls Minimalist Parenting "an eminently practical guidebook on how to lean in to and relish parenting," and does us the honor of suggesting MP as a companion read to Ellen Galinsky's Mind In The Making and Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project.
The Happiness Project: Speaking of The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin interviewed Christine and me for her blog. Such thoughtful questions…it was a pleasure to do.
More: This is already getting too long, but I also want to point out these great posts at Get Rich Slowly, Baby Cheapskate, Mom Generations, A Teacher Goes Back To School, Babble, and ESPECIALLY this podcast interview at Bobblehead Dad. I have much more to say about Jim Higley (the interviewer) but I'll save that for another post.
Cozi Gold Giveaway
Cozi is the beloved calendar-and-productivity system for families everywhere. It's free to use, but the Cozi Gold upgrade comes with even more functionality: a birthday tracker, meal planning, and plenty more. Cozi is giving away five Cozi Gold memberships! Details (and entry, through 3/31) on the Minimalist Parenting blog.
Thank you for not only bearing with the length of this post, but for BEING THERE in the biggest and best way. For those who celebrate, have a wonderful Easter and Passover.
