You're invited: Minimalist Parenting book launch parties!

The down side of cross-country co-authorship is that Christine and I are in different time zones and we can’t hang out in cafes together. The up side is bi-coastal launch parties!

Portland Book Launch Party

I’m throwing a book launch party on Saturday, April 20. (Why a month from now? Our Spring Break is next week, so many of the folks I hope will come are heading out of town.)

A Children's Place BookstoreThis is the first live event I’ve ever planned and I’m so excited about how this party is shaping up. It will take place at my favorite independent bookstore in Portland, A Children’s Place Bookstore. You thought I’d say Powell’s? Powell’s is magnificent, but A Children’s Place is where I go when there’s a birthday present to buy. The owner and staff always have the best book advice. And it’s walking distance from my house.

urbanMamasI’ve got some fantastic friends pitching in to make this party special. urbanMamas is a sponsor, which means this party will be full of local community -- such an important part of Minimalist Parenting. I’ve loved urbanMamas for years…it was the first online gathering place for Portland mamas, and continues to be a thriving hub of information and support.

Urban Bliss MediaMarlynn Schotland of Urban Bliss will also be bringing the fun. I’m not going to reveal exactly what that means (you’ll have to come and see), but if you know Marlynn, you know it will be lovely. Marlynn has been at the center of the Portland mom-owned business community for years, and she brings incredible skill and positive energy to everything she does.

We’ll have drinks, treats, and a chance to hang out. I’ll be signing books. The store will be closed to the general public but open for us, so you can admire (and buy, if you like) books and toys. It’s gonna be GREAT. Come! Invite your friends!
