Optical Illusion Lollipop Valentine! Easy!

LOOK, MOM! HE'S HOLDING A LOLLIPOP!

That was my kids' response to this clever photo Valentine sent in by Betsy as part of this year's new crop of Valentine hacks.

And it's easy to do:

  1. Take a photo of your kid holding his hand out while making a fist.
  2. (If you like, add text and graphics with PicMonkey; Betsy says Costco or Walgreen's will also print words on top of a picture.)
  3. Print as many copies as you need.
  4. Cut a small slit at the top and bottom of the hand and slide in a lollipop.
  5. Delight and amaze your classmates!

Betsy says:

Kid doesn't have to sign his name – or even write anyone elses name if you don't want to. It's creative and non-mainstream character-y. People think it's brilliant!

This reminds me of a fantastic valentine I recall from last year with an even more mind-blowing optical illusion: the kids look like they are holding giant lollipops! Click over to Rage Against The Minivan for more photos and a how-to.

Your comments

I did this last year after seeing this on parenthacks and it was a big hit. My kids thought it was a riot and their friends enjoyed it too!

Wow, love this, too cool! Going to try it!
