Let me tell you a little story about a very special mattress pad.

A couple years ago, I poked fun at my mom for owning a heated mattress pad. She was saying something about "preheating her bed" and I just couldn't resist. "Seriously, Mom? You live in California." That's when she told me about how totally wonderful it feels to get into already-warm bed on a cold night. I think I might have rolled my eyes.

That Hanukkah, a big, squishy package arrived on my doorstep. It was a warming mattress pad of my very own. I made some sort of "that's thoughtful but we don't need it" comment to my husband. He told me I was nuts and that we needed to put it on the bed right away.

I would now like to officially, in public, say: MOM, I WAS WRONG. That heated mattress pad rates in the Top 3 of all the presents I've ever gotten. It's the best, most cozy, most luxurious thing to have a warm bed. It's so lovely in fact, that I now go to bed earlier each night just so I can experience getting under the blanket.

Last year for Hanukkah, I got each of the kids one for their beds. It's freezing in their rooms during the winter, but with the bed all warm and cozy, it's no problem. I'd swear they're more eager to get to bed as well.

Till 1/10/13, the same Soft Heat Warming Mattress Pad I have is 16-35% off (depending on your bed size).

  • Twin: $64.99 (35% off)
  • Full: $92.36 (23% off)
  • Queen: $94.99 (32% off)

  • California King: $133.67 (16% off)

I live in California and I definitely need one of these! It can get chilly at night here. And our utility rates are sky high, making us reluctant to turn on the heat unless absolutely necessary ;-)

Well, Sara, I can't say enough about this thing. I usually preheat by bed (my Mom is snickering right about now) and then turn it off when I get in. The bed stays warm for long enough for me to fall asleep and stay warm all night.

I bought one of these for our anniversary last year, and it's the best thing in the world. I thought we needed a new mattress, because I was waking up with back pain. Turns out I was sleeping all curled up in a tense little ball because our room and our bed was so cold. Now I get into my pre-warmed bed all relaxed and drift off to sleep that way.
