My Minimalist Parenting appearance on AM Northwest [video]

On Monday, I was invited to talk about Minimalist Parenting (specifically, our holiday approach) on Portland's local morning show, AM Northwest. The host, Dave, is a lovely guy...so easy to talk to. And the studio is a five-minute drive from my house, so the whole experience felt rather neighborly.

It's the first time I've ever seen the book cover on TV, so that was a thrill, even more than seeing myself!

Speaking of book news, Minimalist Parenting is mere commas and details away from going to press. Christine and I are planning some exciting, jump-start-y ways to share more of our Minimalist mojo with you in the new year. It's going to be fun.

Excellent video. I think having a minimalist approach to parenting adds a new and simplistic approach to raising a child when time and money are limited resources.

It also allows parents to focus on what's most important and eliminates unnecessary activities which waste time and emotional energy, and those who are parents know how vital it is to be in an emotionally positive and relaxed state.

Adding too many to do's and not enough time is an easy way to add stress in a parents life.

Amen, Jane!
