Use a laundry basket as a hotel bath barrier

Amazon: Rubbermaid Home Laundry BasketJudy's hack brings to mind a laundry basket/bathtub tip we published way back in 2006. But we never thought about how well this works while traveling.

When I was a young mother, I used to fill the tub for my toddler's bath, place a plastic laundry basket in the tub and then place him in the basket. The holes in the basket allowed the bathwater in. I didn't have to worry about him slipping into the water or hitting his head on the tub.

I also used that method when we traveled. A quick trip to Walmart for a laundry basket provided a barrier in hotel tubs.

The basket also keeps toys from floating out of reach.

The original laundry basket/bathtub hack came from Charlene Prince Birkeland back when she was writing for Blogging Baby! Remember Blogging Baby of Weblogs, Inc.? Before AOL bought it? Then it became ParentDish and now HuffPost Parents? Man, we've been doing this a long time! Think of how parenting conversation has changed since then. Wow.
