Review and giveaway: The Baby Cheapskate Guide to Bargains
I've been a fan of Angie Wynne's blog Baby Cheapskate since the moment I launched Parent Hacks. Not only did I indentify (I'm a bit of a cheapskate myself), I appreciated Angie's incredibly hard, consistent work tracking down bargains on baby gear and supplies. (I almost said "tireless," but we all know that anyone with a baby and a blog is tired.)
Today, she realizes a dream: the release of her first book, and I'm so excited to share it with you here. The Baby Cheapskate Guide to Bargains pulls all of Angie's best advice and research together into a quick, easy-to-use reference no new parent should be without.
Angie has always approached money-saving two ways, first, by reducing the overall size of the "must-have list," then by searching for the most inexpensive way to obtain the items that remain.
When I say "must-have," Angie makes a clear distinction between essentials and "popular extras." Her list of essentials is refreshingly short. (I would add this book as one of the essentials, myself.)
For those who are shopping, she goes on to share smart tips on how to score the best deals. She covers both new and second-hand items, using coupons, finding freebies, even how to use a baby registry to your best advantage.
This book will pay for itself within a number of weeks. The Baby Cheapskate Guide to Bargains (plus some diapers) will be my go-to baby shower gift from now on.

I absolutely love the book "Baby Bargains" by Alan and Denise Fields...I was like the Pied Piper in Babies R Us, since other pregnant women were following me to see what I put on my baby registry, according to this book's recommendations! I'd love to read this book too, so I can see about giving this as a part of (early) Baby Shower gifts as well!
