Amazon deal: Michley Lil' Sew & Sew Sewing Machine 43% off

Amazon: Michley LSS-505 Lil' Sew & Sew Multi-Purpose Sewing Machine with Built-In StitchesWhen I saw this cute Michley Lil' Sew & Sew sewing machine pop up in the Amazon Gold Box, I was immediately flooded with happy feelings for my 70s-era Singer Touch & Sew, a gift I got when I was about 9.

I talked about my long relationship with my Touch & Sew in a past post about kids' sewing machines. At the time I was disappointed there didn't appear to be a good-quality modern equivalent. But this Michley model gets good reviews.

The Lil' Sew & Sew isn't specifically made for kids, but the small scale, simple design and portability make it look like an ideal first sewing machine for a child. At this price, it's worth a try.

At Amazon: Michley LSS-505 Lil' Sew & Sew Multi-Purpose Sewing Machine, $39.99

Amazon Gold Box quantities are limited. Discount good until 2/25/12 unless they run out sooner.
