Not-As-Sloppy Joes: use hot dog buns!

Amazon: Lawry's Sloppy Joes Spices & Seasonings, 1.5-Ounce Packets (Pack of 24)That's right, we're building a better Sloppy Joe. From Kerri:

Hate Sloppy Joes because they are so, well, sloppy? Use a hot dog bun instead of a hamburger bun.  The top and bottom bun stay together, keeping the filling from spilling as easily. (This also works well for pulled pork or other messy sandwiches.)

For those of you not familiar with Sloppy Joes, here's a basic recipe.

(Anyone else grow up with those Lawry's spice packets? That was my Mom's "secret" for making enchiladas and spaghetti sauce.)

Your comments

This is a great idea to make a messy sandwich a little less messy, but I don't know...half the fun of a sloppy joe is that you get to make a big mess, and I say this as a total neat freak! I say embrace the mess, and clean up later! (My 5 yr old has only recently come to terms with the mess, he used to demand that I make him a "very neat joe". Wierd.)
