Amazon deal: Roasted seaweed snacks for about 71 cents each

Roasted seaweed "crisps" are one of those unlikely snacks many kids (including mine) LOVE. As in "gobble them up and beg for more." A fun and healthy lunchbox alternative to chips.

I buy them at Trader Joe's for $1 each, but this popular brand is on sale at Amazon for less than 71 cents each (for a pack of 24), assuming you are an Amazon Prime member, or qualify for Super Saver free shipping. If you order using Subscribe & Save, they're even cheaper: about 59 cents per package.

At Amazon: Sea's Gift Roasted Seaweed Snack (Pack of 24): $18.82; through 9/15/11, enter JAYONE77 at checkout for an additional 10% off.

I buy these at Trader Joes for .99. I was just about to order this deal, but noticed the size of the package. The weight of the TJ package is .4oz. The one on Amazon is .17, so about half the size, making them about the same price as TJs. This smaller prepackaged size though would be great for lunchboxes though and would stay fresh, unlike if you took half a TJ package and tried to send it to school.

Save your money and get your seaweed crisp fix from your local Asian market. You’ll spend a fraction of what you’ve been paying and there is a wider selection.

I’d love to hear what kind of pricing per ounce people find at the Asian markets (compared to the Amazon/TJ prices mentioned above).

we prefer the taste of the tj’s seaweed… we tried another brand, but the kids didn’t eat it. they are not the same product…
