I think you're so right about leaving magazines like Popular Science around the house. I started a subscription to National Geographic (the grown-up version) for that very reason. I also have lots of books that I keep around for that reason, esp. art books.

[Excuse my hijacking here] You can get the $5 on the non-renewing subscription to Popular Science, as well; you can also get Popular Mechanics for only $7 as a special offer if you order by 6/30.

Just to point out that the Harmony remote is a refurbished version. Probably as good as new, but some people get picky about that kind of thing.

Thank you! Forgot to point that out. Will add that to the post.

If you're looking for a good movie for the kids, the 2010 remake of Jack and the Beanstalk is a great one that demonstrates good values and morals. I watched it with my son and we both LOVED it. Become a fan of the Jack and the Beanstalk facebook page and you can watch the trailer and read about the cast, plus get ideas for fun family activities - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jack-and-the-Beanstalk/109969562361625
