Ironing board turns into hotel room dining table
Even now that my kids are older, during road trips, we have the best (and cheapest) meal success when we eat dinner in our hotel room. No one wants to sit in a car for hours, only to sit in a restaurant waiting for food. We usually stop by a grocery store on the way to the hotel, pick up some fresh fruit and one frozen meal each (a big treat for the kids), and heat them in the hotel microwave.
We carry a big tablecloth with us whenever we travel, which we spread out on the floor for the kids to eat. Tracy's hack would make it more comfortable:
A friend of mine just went to a hotel and needed a table for her kids to eat at. Since there was not one available, they used the ironing board! They put some bathroom towels over the top of it and wouldn't you know it...the perfect adjustable table.
My only suggestion would be to use your own towels or thick cloth to a) make sure the ironing board stays spotless, and b) the cleaning staff doesn't have to deal with spaghetti sauce on the towels.

We just tried this over the weekend! It was a great idea when we got room service! Thanks.
