Amazon Deal of the Day: AeroBed for Kids

Have you ever slept on an AeroBed? Me neither, because when I have the opportunity as an overnight guest, my kids beg to sleep on it. In that spirit, my mom got an AeroBed for the kids for when they come to visit, and they practically giggle in anticipation of going to sleep.

Today only, the AeroBed for Kids is half-off at Amazon ($49.99; usually $100). Think: sleepovers, comfy travel bed (it's small enough to be portable), flexible sleeping space for little guests.

Twitter friend fields adds this: I have an aerobed for kids, and my 2 year old loves it. He didn't like being enclosed in the peapod. Get a patch kit though. [And, at this price, the AeroBed is $30 cheaper than the Peapod. -- Ed.]

It sounded like a great deal, but it is only 50 inches long and my 5-year old is almost 48 inches tall right now. Guess its only for toddlers.

This is great for toddlers.

We bought this for Grandma's house and our almost 2 year old daughter loved sleeping on it. It was her first experience not sleeping in a crib and worked better than I'd hoped. It was a little squeaky when she shifted positions in the night, but that didn't seem to bother her or wake her up.

We have a Peapod and a Peapod Plus. The Peapod Plus is lighter than the Aerobed for Kids- we travel by air frequently. And when staying in a strange house, my almost-3-year-old feels safe inside the Peapod- she can unzip the Plus from inside if she needs to go to the bathroom.

Anna, it's 50 inches long, but the diagonal is longer than that (though there is also an inset border). Mine's not here at the moment, otherwise I'd measure it for you.

FYI, if you're using one on a wood floor, be sure to put a blanket between the bed and floor. It keeps the floor from taking the head from the bed (keeping you warmer), and prevents squeaking every time you roll over.
Otherwise, they're great for our mobile family.
