Parent Hacks admin: Life intervening; will return shortly
Hi folks,
Sorry for the radio silence. The four-day weekend followed by my son's five-day bout with a mystery illness (complete with ER visit) has temporarily taken over my brainwaves. He's on the mend, as am I, and all's well. But, while waiting for his blood test results, I had a few hours to consider what I would do if he were seriously ill.
We've all been there; life's going along just fine and then, in a moment, everything changes. In our case, it was nothing. Test results: normal. Just a particularly nasty virus. Rest and liquids. But I had the unwelcome opportunity to peer into the abyss of what could be.
The hours I spent in that shadowy place reminded me that I don't have time to be too busy. I don't have time to have too little time for my family or myself. So, rather than update the site or respond to email, I decided to teach my son to crochet (even though I barely know how to myself).
I know you all understand. But I just wanted to hop on and let you know everything is good -- great, even -- and things around here will power up again in a day or two.
PS. Here's why I'm teaching myself to crochet.
