Build an iPhone stand out of K'nex
Oh yeah. Parenthacking of the highest order. We bow to you, Andy.
I just went on a cross-country airplane trip with my wife and 3 boys that range in age from 6 weeks to 4 years. For the 2 older boys I knew that 3 hours or more on a plane was going to be tricky. So I started looking for an iPhone stand so I could throw a couple videos on my phone and hopefully keep them occupied. IWhen I couldn't find anything sturdy enough, I combed through the boys' toys and found the Kid K'nex and started building. I built a working stand in less than an hour. It worked perfectly on the plane and even in the rental car by adding ribbon to tie it to the center console. I put the instructions on instructables.com if anyone's interested.
Confirmation yet again that Parenthackers are the smartest people in the world.

We've got the K'nex, but I don't think we'll be getting an iPhone anytime soon. I bet my son would love a project like this, though, that brought his toys into the "real" world of adult "toys".
