Spray Listerine on outdoor toys to keep them bug-free
Jennifer says:
If you put Listerine antiseptic mouthwash in a spray bottle and use it on your kids' outside toys it will keep the bugs and creepy-crawlies away.
They'll smell minty fresh, too.

I would recommend parents to actually TRY this first - its all the rage in the 'bad email threads' lately.
It doesn't work for me, and even Skin So Soft (another "magic cure" spread by email) has been shown by Consumer Reports to have very little efficacy.
Watch out for confirmation bias, and yes, I know there'll be a slew of posts behind mine that will tout its wonderful qualities.

Excellent fact-checking -- thank you all! If anyone has actual experience with this hack, please tell us about it.

Oh no, I am so disappointed that it might not work - I LOVE that idea. Might have to give it a go myself to find out.

Hmmm... aren't there a lot of sweeteners in most mouthwashes? I'd think this would just result in sticky toys.
