Best of Parent Hacks: Keeping warm during the winter
The weather outside is frightful, so I thought it might be nice to dig through the archives for some of our best cold weather tips:
- Polar fleece makes crib extra cozy
- Shoe organizer in the coat closet keeps gloves and accessories within reach
- Attach mittens to coat sleeves
- Serve hot chocolate with a straw
- BabyLegs: More than just baby leg warmers
- Old tube socks protect exposed wrists from snow
- How to get a jacket on a squirmy toddler
- Forget struggling with baby socks in winter: let them wear tights
- Hot water bottle helps newborn get cozy in a bassinet
- Hair dryer as towel warmer

I use a rice sock and warm it up in the microwave. I lay it over mittens before the kids go out. It also works as a car seat warm, plus it molds to your body better than a water bottle.

We put milk for hot cocoa in the crockpot to warm before we go out to play in the snow.
Those shoe organizers are great! We have one for socks, tights, and underwear, and one for art supplies.
