Martha Stewart (and staff): Parenthackers?
There's a fine line between the hacker-ish DIYers and the stylish crafters. Case in point: the Martha Stewart Omnimedia folks got in touch to tell me about Good Things For Kids, a new special issue of on newsstands now. It's full of pictures of unnaturally well-groomed children, and I can't help but wonder what life would feel like if it actually looked like that. But I digress. The little mag's packed with fun party ideas, recipes and crafts. A lovely summer afternoon diversion or airplane read if you're the crafty sort.
My favorite: Bubble Wrap Purse favors

Great post. It sound like a StyleHack to me. All in one craft bag, my daughter would love that. Thanks for sharing.

Those well groomed kids always look great on television, but I don't think it's the same in real life. Well groomed and super well behaved children would make for a boring life, right? Their antics can be annoying and frustrating at times, but my little goobers certainly add a little spice to my life.
Thanks for the gift idea. I'll have to pick up this issue to see what you're talking about!

The whole Martha Stewart lifestyle scares me somewhat, but I gotta hand it to her -- she and her army of perfectionists have some amazing ideas. She also does great recipes -- her homemade macaroni & cheese (with sharp white cheddar and gruyere) is spectacular, and my kids beg to help me make it (even though they're blue box devotees).

I've never been much of a Martha woman myself, or really a fan of any magazine that has it's stamp of perfection throughout. I never knew they had crafty ideas like that printed throughout either. Thanks for the info :)

That bubble wrap favor seems like a great little goody bag to use on a long car trip, fill it with other little goodies for your kids, and it would keep them busy for a while.
