We just spend the last few days researching plastics after running into the polycarbonate plastic leaching studies.

If anyone wants a good starting point for understanding what the fuss is about, I particularly like this article at WebMD:

We decided it's not worth the risk, so our polycarbonate bottles are moving to the garage to store nails and such. I was most worried about what bottles I can safely use.

Glass bottles are an option, but their shatter-potential is high with a bottle bomber like our son. We're using Playtex Drop-Ins for now (our son's down to one or two bottles a day or the waste of these would make me miserable), but there are also widely available polypropylene and polyethylene options as well.
