Make a geometric sculpture out of marshmallows and toothpicks
This was my son's first-grade activity last week -- to build something out of marshmallows and toothpicks, and then to see if it was strong enough to support the weight of a book. Simple, fun, educational...and tasty.
By the way, you're getting a rare glimpse at Parent Hacks World Headquarters...my kitchen table.

That's a great idea. Just last week my 7 year old came home with a math project. They made pyramids from toothpicks and gumdrops.

I've found that if you use pretzel sticks and marshmallows you can make wonderful shapes, and clean up is quite tasty.
