Disposable diaper as bath faucet guard

Cathy's bathe-the-kids-while-traveling hack:

I just got back from a week-long road trip with my young children. I tried to pack light, and although I failed, I did find myself wishing I had some things with me, like a faucet protector. My 9-month-old is an animal in the tub. She cannot be contained.

Trying to bathe two sand-covered children, I was minus perhaps the five extra hands I needed to actually get everyone clean safely. I had thrown all of their sandy clothes on the bathroom floor with wild abandon and spied Sadie’s mostly clean diaper. I wrapped it around the faucet, and voila! An instant head protector. It just gets better with age as it sucks up any faucet leaks and the gel expands.

With age? I hope that means with age through one bath... *lol*

We just bought a 90-year-old house in the pacific northwest - and you guessed it, we have some leaks with all that rain. At the onset of a recent waterlogged weekend, my husband spied the bag of disposable diapers we'd discarded because our daughter reacted badly to that brand - he left them lined up along the usual leakage areas for a couple of days, and they were perfect for soaking up the seepage!
