Bidding at Her Bad Auction opens today
When people ask me why I'm so excited about blogging, I tell them "because of the community." Some look at me askance, as if I'd just admitted I picked up my husband in some seedy chat room. But tell me if this isn't community, in the purest sense of the word:
In honor of Catherine Connors (Her Bad Mother) whose nephew Tanner has Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy (an ultimately terminal degenerative muscular disorder), Julie of mothergoosemouse, Sandra of Sunshine Scribe, and Kristen of Motherhood Uncensored are hosting Her Bad Auction. This online auction features over 30 nifty items, some of which are holiday-themed (like the hand-sewn stocking), and some of which are just plain cool (like the Dad Gone Mad and Fussy tees). All proceeds will go to Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
They are also encouraging kids from all over the world to write letters to Tanner, because what kid doesn't love to get a surprise in the mailbox?
Please consider dropping by and buying a raffle ticket or two. You might end up with a lovely gift, and you'll surely leave knowing you've done something good.
