Pros and cons of having kids: add yours to the list!

From Darren:

I guess this is kind of a pre-parenting hack, so I'm not sure it qualifies. Regardless, I thought I'd pass along our little social experiment in the wisdom of crowds:

Which points to our editable list of pros and cons on becoming a parent. Please feel free to contribute, if you like, and of course feel free to blog about it if you're so inclined.

I told Darren I thought his experiment is both hilarious and wise. It's good to be very clear that there are indeed pros and cons to becoming a parent -- pretending otherwise is a recipe for disaster.

Your comments

Parenting is something you just can't understand until you do it. At that point you lose sight of your old point of view and can't imagine it any other way. You love it and you hate it- sometimes within minutes of the other.

Children are a great tax deduction

Well said, Jill. Whenever I've tried to say that myself I end up speaking in cliches. But they're all true.
