The best lipstick for moms

MAC lipstickLipstick? On Parent Hacks?

Yes, and rightfully so. Motherhood can do a number on one's sense of fashion and personal grooming. Too much trouble, not enough time. Anything that simplifies the process counts as a good hack in my book.

Along those lines, here's Shelly's suggestion:

MAC makes the absolute best thing ever - pro longwear lipcolor. It lasts forever, through meals, through playgroup and doesn't get all over the baby when you kiss it (constantly). So it's pretty much made for moms. And it comes off quickly and easily with baby wipes (but almost nothing else). Great colors.

By the way, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Viva Glam lipstick goes to the MAC AIDS Fund. MAC is only available at MAC stores and department stores: here's the store locator.

L'Oreal and Revlon make a much more inexpensive verion of the longwear and even resembles the MAC too! Though if you are going to spend that much money on lipstick you'd rather it go to a charity. Like killing two birds with one stone.

WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?
I HATE KISSING MY WIFE WHEN SHE HAS ON THE STUFF THAT JUST TASTES NASTY!

I'll wear it if you're wearing it... are you really wearing it, Asha?

As a matter of fact, Heather, I am MAC wearer, have been for years. I've never tried the Pro Longwear stuff, though. No kidding, I was thinking of getting myself some as a beginning-of-the-school-year treat.

I've tried the Pro Longwear lipcolor and it ran! So, I exchanged it for the MAC lip gloss and it was great. I also use Neutrogena's MoistureShine gloss which works great and is less expensive.

I bought some yesterday and it doesn't taste like anything. You have to let to let it set for a few minutes before putting a gloss on, but after that it didn't transfer onto anything.

I put it on around noon yesterday and this morning there was still a bit of color there even after my shower. I'm going to have to get some better makeup remover...
