Parent Hacks admin: The backlog

The time has come again for me to explain my long delay in posting your fantastic hacks, some of which I've had for an embarrassingly long time.

Here's my process, just so you understand the reason for the holdup:

When I get your hack, I read it within a few days. If I like it (which I almost always DO! You people are brilliant.) I write back to you letting you know it's in my queue. (If I don't like it, I'll still write back to you, so if you don't hear from me right away, not to worry.) I then edit and reformat the hacks, and schedule them to appear on the site on a first-in-first-out basis. (I make exceptions for stuff that's time-sensitive.) As soon as I schedule your hack, I write to you again to let you know when it will appear on Parent Hacks, so you can notify your posse about your impending fame.

I generally post twice or three times per day during the week — any more and we might all burn out.

That's it. I so appreciate everyone's patience and willingness to make Parent Hacks the truly collaborative project it is. Thank you. I have more fun stuff in the works, but till then, keep sending those hacks!

I sent in a hack a week or so ago and didn’t get a response, should I send it again?

No need to — I’ve got it right here. You’ll be hearing from me in the next day or two. Thanks a lot, Rosemary.
