On the Make: blog, Damien Stolarz shares his daughter's infatuation with the Brother P-Touch label maker. My kids are similarly in love with my Dymo. The label tape gets pricey if they go through it too quickly, but, if managed well, it can be a fantastic "toy" for beginning spellers and hyper-organized types.

My son went through a phase when he loved the same label-maker - all the way to a point where we got all the spice jars relabeled (accurately!)

If you let them loose on it, make sure you set the text width to "narrow" to use as little tape as possible.
